Our vision as HNTI is to be a centre of excellence in TB Research and other infections in sub-Saharan Africa.
Our strategic mission is to conduct collaborative and multidisciplinary research in TB and other infections with the long-term goal of building local scientific research capacity that is sustainable, internationally excellent, and that makes a direct contribution to local and international policies and practices.
Short courses and trainings
HNTI, in collaboration with the KUHeS Research Support Centre and the MLW, offers a variety of short course trainings.
Small grants and research support
PhD training fellowships
The HNTI PhD programme has produced leading researchers and continues to support upcoming scientists to date.
Masters and pre-Masters support
Opportunities for pre-Masters and Masters students are available, with support from the MLW and international collaborators.
Student exchange programme
The group has begun to host international undergraduate research students and supports their projects in Malawi.
Undergrad support/supervision
The HNTI fellows are encouraged to render research support and supervision to undergrad students from the KUHeS
